Tag Management
[TOC]

I. Add Tags

On the “Contacts” tab of the admin console, click the plus sign (+) in the upper left corner and then select “Add Tags”.
After a tag is configured, you can configure users allowed to use this tag and authorize them with permissions to edit the tag name, and add/delete members allowed.

1. The authorized users can select from three scopes:
① User only (i.e., the person who creates the tag)
② Specified administrators or app owners
③ All administrators (Note: “All administrators” does not include app owners)
Note:
(1) After a hierarchical administrator is set as a tag user, he/she can only see the tag members within the contacts management scope in the Contacts, and the members outside the Contacts management scope will not appear in the tag.
(2) When pushing app messages, if the tag includes members outside the management scope, those members will not receive the push messages.

2. It is possible to set tag management permissions for tag users. There are two types of permissions as below:
① For use only (when only the use permission is granted, the same precautions as above apply. Tag users are not allowed to add/delete members or modify the tag name for this tag);
② Editable (it is allowed to add/delete members or modify the name for this tag).
Note: Tag users refer to the users who can use this tag in the component for selecting people in scenarios such as sending messages. However, when the owner views the tag details in tag management, only when there is an intersection between the members/departments within the tag and the scope of responsibility/management of the owner, can the corresponding people be seen in the tag details.
For example: Both A and B are owners with the same permissions. A can see the members in tag C when viewing tag C, while B cannot. This may be because A is the owner of multiple apps, and one of the apps he/she is in charge of has an intersection with the members within the tag, so A can see them; while B’s management scope has no intersection with the members within the tag, so B cannot see them.

II. Configure Users Allowed to Use Tags

1.Add manually

2.Batch import/export

“Admin Console” -> “Contacts” -> “Tag” -> “Batch Import/Export”

3.Tag limit

(1)The total number of tags cannot exceed 3,000. Each tag can have up to 30,000 nodes.
Note: Nodes of a tag can represent a department or an individual.
(2)A member can also join multiple tags. There is currently no limit to the number of tags a single member can join.

III. How to Use Tags

Members set as app owners by admins can set tags used in pushing app messages.
An app owner can log in to the PC version of WeCom, find the corresponding app in “Workspace”, and then click the settings icon in the upper right corner to enter the tag management page.
When adding a tag, the app owner can specify who can use this tag.
