I. Introduction to External Contact Permission

Company admins can set permissions for external communication members. Members on the list are allowed to add WeChat or WeCom users as external contacts.

II. Set external contacts permission

For Mobile:
“Workspace” -> “Company Management” -> “External Contacts Permission Settings”

For Web:
“My Company” -> “External Contacts Management” -> “Member Permission”

III. Set verification required / not required when adding me

You can enable/disable “Verification required” through “Hamburger button in the upper left corner” -> “Settings” -> “Contacts Permission” -> “When adding Me” in WeCom app. When “Verification required” is disabled, you can choose whether to automatically add the friend to Contacts.

For the users that have disabled “Verification required”, when you open the chat page with one-way friends for the first time, a pop-up window will appear to remind you to add the friends to Contacts automatically with verification not required.
