User messages refer to the messages sent by members within the visibility scope of an app. Members who have access to the app can find it in “Workspace”in the WeCom client and send messages to the app. Admins can view the messages sent by members to the app and reply to them in the “User Messages” section.
1. Admins can view and reply to the messages sent to apps by members in “Admin Console” -> “Security and Management” -> “Management Tool” -> “User Messages”.
2. Owners can be set for different apps. App owners can view and reply to messages sent to an app by members within their management scope by going to “Workspace” and clicking an app -> “Settings” in the upper-right corner -> “View Messages” on PC.
Note:
(1)Sub-admins must have management permissions for an app to view messages sent to the app by members within their management scope.
(2)If a sub-admin does not have Connected Company permissions, they cannot view messages sent to the shared app by other companies. Business owners also cannot view these messages - only super admins can.
3. There is no limit on the number of user messages that can be received. The message page shows up to 1 month of messages.
1. The message “Too large video/file. Unable to receive in the Admin Console.”
This occurs if a user sends a video over 10 MB or a file over 20 MB in the app window.
2. Messages sent to an app are missing in the Admin Console:
(1) The timestamp shown for user messages is based on a member’s last message. For example, if user A sent a message on August 1 and another message on August 15, the user message list will only show the timestamp as August 15.
(2) If multiple messages are sent in a day, only the latest one is displayed on the user message page (you can click details to view messages received in the last 30 days).
(3) Sub-admins can only view messages from members within their management scope. Super admins can view messages from former employees.
(4) Messages sent from the WeChat plugin to an app (e.g. Word files) cannot be viewed in “Admin Console” -> “User Messages”. Messages sent from the WeCom client can be viewed.
(5) Admins cannot view messages sent by parents to “School Notifications”.
