How to Make a Company-paid Call

I. Company-paid Call usage and call recipients

(1)Company-paid Call recipients include contacts in Corporate Directory, mobile contacts and mobile numbers entered manually.
(2) Currently, it is only allowed to make calls to mobile and landline numbers within mainland China. Calls to international numbers or numbers in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan China are not supported.
(3)The caller’s mobile number linked to the WeCom account must be in Mainland China;
(4)In addition, Company-paid Call is unavailable for mobile numbers in Xinjiang or from Tianjin Telecom and Guangxi Telecom. In this case, a message “Company-paid Call is available only for Mainland China numbers” appears.
(5) The company-paid call currently does not support dialing short numbers.

II. Company-paid Call modes

The call mode can make one-on-one calls、group calls.

III. Paths

1. How to make a company-paid call on mobile

Go to “Workspace” -> “Company-paid Call” -> “Call”. Select “One-to-one call” and recipients from contacts in Corporate Directory, mobile contacts and mobile numbers entered manually.
If the admin sets a colleague in Corporate Directory as a sensitive member whose mobile number is hidden, when you call him/her, a message “You cannot use Company-paid Call because this user’s mobile number is hidden. Voice Call is recommended.” will appear.

2. How to make a company-paid call from call history on mobile

Go to “Workspace” -> “Company-paid Call”. Tap call history to make a quick redial.

3. How to make a company-paid call on the Personal Information page of a contact

Personal Information page of a contact: Tap the mobile number or the office number on the page, and select “Company-paid Call” from the pop-up menu.

4. When a mobile number appears in a chat, you can tap the mobile number to make a company-paid call.

Tap the mobile number in a chat, and select “Company-paid Call”.

5. Operations in a group call

When making a group call via Company-paid Call, you can perform such operations as adding people, redialing, minimizing, initiating a group chat, and hanging up in WeCom.
(1) Adding people: Tap the “+” button in the upper right corner of the call page to invite new members to the call. By tapping “OK”, the invitees will receive a system call, and then join the chat after answering the call.
A maximum of 9 people can join a group call.
(2) Redialing: For a member who does not answer the call or has exited the call, tap the member’s profile photo to make a redial. The member who receives the system call again can join it after answering the call.
(3) Minimizing: You can minimize the call page by tapping the button in the upper left corner, and process messages in WeCom during the call.
(4) Initiating a group chat: Tap the group chat icon in the upper right corner to quickly create a group that contains all participants in the call, to easily sync meeting materials and results.

6. How to make a company-paid call on PC

Company-paid Call is not available on PC. But you can make a company-paid call on mobile by clicking the mobile number in chats or on the member’s personal information page. After dialing out, you need to answer the system call on mobile.
(Make sure that your mobile number linked to WeCom is the one you are using on your mobile.)

IV. Show caller number in Company-paid Call

After dialing out, the caller (shall be granted the permission for WeCom Contacts) will receive an incoming call with a “company name” shown to him/her, and will be connected to the call recipient via the company-paid call after answering. The caller’s company name or is shown to the call recipient. For group calls, the caller’s company name or telephone number (for non-WeCom users) is shown to the call recipients.

V. How to use Company-paid Call by default

In the admin console, admins can go to “App Management” -> “Company-paid Call” -> “Settings” -> “Use Company-paid Call by Default”
After this option is enabled, when members click/tap a mobile number in chats or on the member’s personal information page, Company-paid Call will be used by default.

VI. Special Scenarios

1. Use Company-paid Call abroad

If the mobile number linked to WeCom can answer a call abroad, Company-paid Call is supported for this mobile number. Company-paid Call is available only for mobile numbers/telephone numbers in Mainland China.

2. Use Company-paid Call upon mobile number suspension

Company-paid call service is available if the phone is able to answer calls normally. (Usually, a phone that has been disconnected cannot receive incoming calls, so it cannot be used for company-paid calls.)

3. Use Company-paid Call on a dual-SIM device

The mobile number linked to WeCom will be used by default when you use Company-paid Call to call back.
If you want to use another mobile number on your mobile, you can link it in WeCom.

VII. A message “Timed out. Try again later” appears when you use Company-paid Call.

Scenario: When you use Company-paid Call, messages “Timed out. Try again later” or “Changing line” appear, or the call rings once only.

1.Ask the admin to go to “Admin Console” -> “App Management” -> “Company-paid call” -> “Account Balance” and check if there is any balance.

2.Check if the mobile number linked to WeCom is the one you are using on your mobile.

3.Check if the mobile number has been suspended due to insufficient balance.

4.If the mobile number is not in arrears, check if the call is blocked by a security software, such as 360 Total Security.

5.Check if call forwarding is enabled.

6.It is possible that call interception services or other features have been enabled on your phone. For China Mobile users, check if incoming calls from landlines are being intercepted by following the official account “中国移动高频骚扰电话防护” (China Mobile High-Frequency Harassment Call Protection). For China Telecom users, check incoming calls by following the official account “天翼防骚扰” (Tianyi Anti-Harassment). For China Unicom users, check incoming calls by following the official account “沃助理” (Wo Assistant). Alternatively, you can contact customer service to disable call interception services.

7.Check if the recipient’s phone is turned off (e.g., in airplane mode or with the SIM card disabled). You can try having someone else call the recipient’s phone number to see if there is a message indicating it is turned off.
