Starting from version 5.0.6, when editing an email in the [Email] module of the WeCom app, users can choose the “Smart Translation” feature to translate the email body with one click, thereby improving email composing efficiency.
Ensure that the WeCom app version you are using is 5.0.6 or later. You can check the current version in [Me -> Settings -> About].
(1) Operation instructions of WeCom for PC app (Windows/Mac):
① Via the menu bar: Go to [Email -> New Mail], compose your email content, then select the text you want to translate. Click the “Smart Translation” button in the toolbar above the body editing box. After translation, you can choose “Use Translation” to directly replace the original text, or “Insert Below” to compare it with the original.
Tip: If no text is selected, the entire email will be translated by default.
② Via the Right-click Shortcut: After composing your content in the email body editing box, select the part you want to translate. Right-click on the selected text, and choose “Smart Translation” from the context menu for a partial translation. After translation, you can choose “Insert Below” for comparison with the original, or “Use Translation” to directly replace the original.
(2) Operation instructions of WeCom for the Mobile app (iOS/Android):
① Full-text translation: Go to [Emails -> New Mail], click the “+” icon at the bottom of the body, and select “Smart Translation” to translate the entire email.
② Partial translation: On the email composition screen, touch and hold the text in the body editing box, select the portion you want to translate, and choose “Smart Translation” from the toolbar to translate the selected content. After translation, you can choose “Insert Below” to compare with the original text, or “Use Translation” to directly replace the original.
“Smart Translation” supports translating email content into dozens of languages, including Simplified Chinese, English, Indonesian, Malay, Spanish, and Korean. For the complete list of all supported languages, refer to the actual available list within the WeCom email app.
