1.Prerequisite for associating a work email: Only WeCom members who have not been assigned a company-exclusive email account can associate a work email.
2.Operation entry: Open the [WeCom] app and go to the [Email].
3.Add account: Click “Add work email”.
4.Fill in information:
(1)Email account: Enter your complete NetEase email address.
(2)Password: You must enter the “Client Authorization Code” obtained from your NetEase email (not the original email login password).
If the configuration failed, please check:
(1)Whether the client service protocol (IMAP/POP3) has been enabled in the web version of your NetEase email.
(2)Is the entered “password” the correct client authorization code.
1.Log in to the web version: Use a browser to visit the NetEase email official website (https://email.163.com/) and log in.
2.Access settings: On the email homepage, click the [Settings -> POP/SMTP/IMAP] option at the top to enter the client protocol settings page.
3.Enable protocol: On the settings page, locate and click to enable either [IMAP/SMTP Service] or [POP3/SMTP Service]. Simultaneously, click “Receive Options” to set the scope of emails the client can fetch.
Protocol selection: The IMAP protocol can fully synchronize email status (such as sent emails, other folders, and read status) with the web version. The POP3 protocol is for one-way email receiving only.
4.Security verification: Complete the security verification as prompted on the page (typically requires sending an SMS message to an associated mobile number). After successful verification, the protocol is activated.
After enabling the client protocol, you can generate a dedicated password (authorization code) for logging in to clients.
1.Entry: In the [POP/SMTP/IMAP -> Authorization Password Management] section, click “New Authorization Password”.
2.New Authorization Code: Click “New Authorization Password”. The system will guide you through a security verification process (usually via SMS verification).
3.Copy the authorization code: Upon successful verification, the system will automatically generate a 16-character random alphanumeric authorization code.
(1)Important: This authorization code is displayed only once. Please make sure to keep a proper record immediately.
(2)Suggestion: One authorization code can be used to log in to multiple clients. For security reasons, it is recommended to generate independent authorization codes for different devices or purposes, which facilitates separate management or revocation.
POP3/SMTP protocol types:
Email receiving server: pop.163.com; use SSL, port number 995
Sending email server: smtp.163.com; use SSL, port number 465
IMAP/SMTP protocol types:
Email receiving server: imap.163.com; use SSL, port number 993
Sending email server: smtp.163.com; use SSL, port number 465
You can delete the associated work email via the WeCom app by going to [Email -> Email Settings -> Account -> Account Details] and clicking “Delete Account”. After deletion, the associated work email will be dissociated.
Tip: To avoid data loss, please check whether the client emails (including Contacts and drafts) have been fully synchronized to the web version of the email. If there is any unsynchronized or locally stored important information, be sure to back it up in advance.
