I. Introduction to Inheritance from Former Employees

Assigning students of offboarded members is a tool provided by WeCom for companies to manage students added by offboarded members. It supports manual assignment on the management side and assignment via API.
After a member leaves the company, if they have students they were following up with, those students can be assigned to other members for continued follow-up.

II. How to Assign Students of Former Employees

(1) After a member is deleted from the corporate directory, go to “Students and Partners” -> “Contact Students” -> “Inheritance from Former Employees” to assign their students and student groups (if any) to other members.
You can also do this in the “Workspace” -> “Inheritance from Former Employees” on your mobile phone.


(2) Assign specified students or all students or student groups of the former member to other members.

III. What will happen to students after inheritance from former employees?

After certain students are assigned to a new member, they will receive a notification that the new member will be their contact if they do not click “Do Not Add” in 24 hours. Their addition status can also be viewed by the member.

If trainees have service needs, they can click on the replacement member name on the prompt page to actively add and send friend verification, add members in advance, and the service will not be interrupted.

IV. Restrictions on inheritance from former employees

You can batch assign the trainees of terminated members on mobile app and management client, with a maximum of 5,000 trainees assigned at a time. When the assigned quantity exceeds the upper limit, 5,000 trainees can be automatically selected for assignment with one click on the assignment page. If the number of trainees of terminated member exceeds 5,000, multiple attempts can be made to assign them.

V. Will a trainees details (such as the alias, tag, and description) be synced after inheritance from a former employee?

Once a company member inherits a trainee from a former employee, information such as the trainees alias, company tag, description, mobile number, and company name added by the former employee will be shared simultaneously with the company member.

Note:
1. During the 24-hour in-service inheritance window, customer details are subject to automatic allocation. An exception to this process occurs when the addition is initiated by the trainee clicking the system message, in which case remark and description are excluded from the inheritance.
2. If the new employee and the inherited trainee are already contacts, any remarks (including tags) previously added by the former member will not be inherited.
3. If the inheriting member has already added some fields (such as remark names, company tags, descriptions, mobile numbers, or company names), the fields added by the inheriting member will be displayed with priority.
4. If a member actively adds a trainee after inheritance is initiated, remarks and tags added by the previous member will also be inherited.
