Real-person verification is available to punch by taking a photo. After the real-person verification is enabled, you can verify whether the punch member is a real person to avoid cheating.
Members’ faces should be clearly shown in the uniformly distributed light during punch via face recognition to avoid recognition failure. Therefore, it may be hard for members to punch successfully when this option is enabled.
● From mobile: tap “Workspace” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Manage” -> an existing rule/“Add Rule” -> “More Settings” -> “Camera and face recognition”.
● From the admin console: click “App Management” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Punch in/out” ->”Set Rules” -> “+ Add Rules” or “Edit” -> “Camera and face recognition” -> “Face recognition is required for punch.”
Face information can only be managed from mobile. When real -person verification is enabled, users’ faces should be clearly shown in the uniformly distributed light during punch via face recognition to avoid recognition failure.
Admins can manage face information by going to:
“Workspace” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Manage” -> “Work Time Rules” -> an existing punch rule -> “More settings” -> Camera and face recognition” -> enabling “Face recognition” -> “Face information management” -> “Enroll face information”/“Remove face information” from mobile, or
“Workspace” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Manage” -> “Offsite Punch Rules” -> enabling “Punch via face recognition” -> “Face information management” -> “Enroll face information”/“Remove face information” from mobile.
Members can enroll/re-enroll their face information by going to:
“Workspace” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> the three dots in the upper-right corner -> “Settings” -> “Face information”.
1. A notification of “Face recognition failed. Try again.” appears when I want to punch.
(1)Ensure the app has been updated to the latest version.
(2)Check if the read and write phone storage permission is enabled for WeCom.
(3)Ensure your phone has not reached the storage limit.
(4)Your enrolled face image is quite different from the image you are using for punch. For example, the enrolled image contains other contents in addition to your face. Please enroll your face information again while making sure the image does not contain other contents.
If the re-enrollment fails, contact the admin to remove the original image and enroll again.
(5)If the beauty filter is enabled, an excessive level of beautification may affect recognition, resulting in a failure of punch.
(6)Try increasing your phone’s brightness in an indoor environment with soft lighting, and avoid facing the light source directly.
2. Blank/White screen when face information is enrolled
In System Settings -> App Permissions on your mobile, enable the permissions for WeCom to access the camera, microphone (recording), and storage.
3. It is required to take a photo for punch after completing face recognition.
Starting from version 4.1.22, photo taking and face recognition are applied separately. If you have enabled “Photo taking is required for each punch” and “Face recognition is required for each punch” when setting the punch rules for “Camera and Face Recognition”, or if you have selected “Upload the photo with watermark as the supporting proof “ for “Punch Outside the Allowed Area” and enabled face recognition, then taking a photo will be triggered after face recognition.
Note: This does not apply to off-site punch. If both face recognition and photo taking are enabled for off-site punch, only face recognition is required.
