I.Purpose of the Industry Type

Different features are provided to different industry types. For example,
For the “Education - Preschool Education, Education - Primary and Secondary Education” type,, features such as Contact Parents, Class Group, Live Class, Class Homework, and Punch in Non-class Period are available.
For the “Government“type, features such as Resident Group, Contact Residents, Resident Report, Inspection Report, and Resident Notification are available.
For the “Healthcare“ type, features such as Online Consultation and Emergency Notification are available.
For the “Education - Training Institutions” type, features such as Contact Students, Broadcast Messages, Student Group, Class Homework, and Punch in Non-class Period are available.

Notes:
1. After switching to another industry, you will no longer be able to use the original industry’s features and will not be able to switch back to the original industry type. Please proceed with caution.
2. If you select “Education - Educational Administrative Institutions” when registering for WeCom, you will not be able to change the industry type or use the Contacts Parents and Contact Customers features.
3. For overseas companies, if the chosen industry type during registration is any education industry other than “Educational Administrative Institutions”, the industry type will automatically be changed to “Other Industries - Other” and cannot be modified.

II. Change the Industry Type

You need to select the industry type when you register your WeCom account.
If you select “Educational administrative institution”, you cannot change the industry type. If you select another industry type, you can change the industry type only once after registration.
To change the industry type, go to:
“My Company” -> “Company Information” -> “Industry Type” in the Admin Console,

or”Workspace” -> “Manage Company” -> “Company Information” -> “Industry Type” in the WeCom app.
