userid is the account of a company’s member, which can be a unique ID (such as employee ID or English name) within a company, but is not supposed to be information that may expose the privacy of an employee, including mobile number, email address, and ID card number. Currently, userid can consist of letters, digits, and symbols (.-_@) only, which will not affect any member to join a company after being specified. This field functions as a unique identifier for members during member import and usage of open WeCom APIs.
Admins can view the account of a member on the member’s information page on the “Contacts” tab of the admin console or WeCom app.
To avoid any account confusion when third-party services are used, refer to the following limitations for account settings:
1. An account cannot be modified upon initial manual configuration.
2. For an account automatically generated by WeCom, it can be modified only for once.
The gender of a member can be told by the color of its gender icon. Blue indicates male while orange indicates female.
After a user has logged in to the PC client of WeCom, a blue PC icon will be displayed next to the name of the user.
If there is no user activity for 15 minutes after login on PC, the desktop icon will be displayed in a grayed-out state.
If the user is not logged in on PC, the desktop icon will not be displayed.
Note: If the computer screen is locked, WeCom will immediately show the “Away” status.
Members not joined mean those not downloading WeCom or not following WeCom Plug-ins.
Personal message is supported both on PC and mobile clients, which must not exceed 80 characters. A personal message can consist of texts, emojis, and links to access WeDoc.
You can log in to the WeCom app, tap the button on the top left of the message page, and tap the profile photo to enter your personal information page to edit and publish a personal message.
After approval for leave, out-of-office, or business trip, the work signature will be automatically synchronized and displayed at the beginning of the leave/out-of-office/business trip. The displayed content can be modified. If the request form is approved but the start time of leave has not yet arrived, it can be modified in advance on the signature page. After modification, the signature will automatically disappear after the leave ends and restore the original work signature at the end time; If the signature has already been synchronized and modified, it is also supported, but the signature will not automatically disappear after the leave ends. Support early termination to facilitate efficient collaboration among colleagues.
You can enable/disable “Auto Personal Message Update” in the following ways:
On mobile: Tap the hamburger button in the upper-left corner -> Profile photo -> Personal message -> Three dots in the upper-right corner -> “Auto Personal Message Update”.
On PC: Click profile photo in the upper-left corner -> Personal message -> “Auto Personal Message Update”.
Note: The Settings is visible only if the Approvals app has been enabled and the member is allowed to use the app.
Notes:
(1) Only approval forms containing “Leave”, “Out-of-office”, and “Business trip” components can be synchronized.
(2) The language displayed in the personal message is based on the language when the message is generated (typically the approval time or the day before the leave starts), and will not change with the device language.
(3) If the personal message has been manually modified/set/adjusted on the start date in the approval form, the WeCom personal message will no longer be synchronized for that approval form.
For example: If the time in an approval form is April 24 - April 27, and the member has manually modified the personal message on April 24, the WeCom personal message will no longer be synchronized for the approval form.
(4) Leave and overtime applications submitted on behalf of another employee can be synchronized to the employee’s personal message.
Starting from v4.1.38, it supports viewing the vacation status of group members when @mentioning members in group chats.
(1) Only approval forms containing the “Leave” component can be synchronized, while “Out of Office” and “Business Trip” are not supported. The enterprise’s own OA leave process is currently not supported for synchronization.
(2) After sending a message by @mentioning a group member, the vacation status will not be displayed on the message page, only the name of the group member will be displayed, and the vacation status will only be displayed during @mentioning the group member.
Sub-admins have been restricted to viewvisible member information, and a message indicating no permissions will be displayed once they attempt to view invisible fields. To view such fields, contact super admins to change the viewing permissions or apply for permissions to edit the contacts.
Note: The “Visible Member Information” setting only applies to sub-admins with Contacts view permission, and does not apply to those with management permissions.
(1) The total number of members displayed on the WeCom app is different from that queried from the admin console.
a. Check the contacts viewing permissions in “My Company” -> “Contacts Management” -> “Viewing Permission for Contacts” on the admin console.
b. Check whether any member has left the company. Currently, the WeCom app does not display members leaving the company by themselves. Admins can log in to the admin console, choose the “Contacts” tab, and then select “Exited” from the menu of the member list to filter those leaving the company.
(2) Members in all sub-departments are more than those under the root department.
Each member can belong to multiple departments, so the total number of members in all departments is not necessarily equal to the actual number of members in a company.
(3) Inactive members in all sub-departments are more than those under the root department.
There may be a delay in updating the number of inactive members. You are advised to check the statistics half an hour later.
(1) A member cannot be found in Contacts of the admin console.
(2) A member cannot be found in Contacts of a WeCom client.
(3) A member cannot be found on the message page of a WeCom client.
