“Outside Punch Area" appears on the Punch page

If “Outside Punch Area” displays on the “Punch In/Out” page, your location or the connected WiFi does not conform to the punch rules set by the admin.
Click the text “Outside Punch Area” to enter the help page and check the punch rules, location, and connected Wi-Fi of the employee, and find the solution in the following ways:

[TOC]

I. Location is outside the punch area

If a map displays, the location is not within the punch area.

Solutions:

1. Current Location is incorrect.
To ensure an accurate positioning, you need to allow WeCom to access your location information in the system settings, and enable the positioning feature;
If the problem persists, disable the mobile positioning service and enable it again to allow WeCom to get the location information again.
Enabling WiFi and Bluetooth (without connection) allows a more accurate positioning.

2. Punch Rule is incorrect.
Contact the admin to verify whether the rule name is correct. This is probably because of multiple duplicate rules or an incorrect rule. Modification is required to ensure the punch member is correct.

3. Punch Location is incorrect.
Punch Location and Punch Area are preset by admin in the admin console.
If multiple punch locations were set, the one closest to you is displayed first.
If the punch location does not exist or is incorrect, contact the admin to modify the location, expand punch area, or enable WiFi-based punch.

4. The problem persists despite of all the solutions above.
If the aforementioned methods still fail to resolve the issue, admins can go to the WeCom app, tap “三” in the upper-left corner of Chats -> “Settings” -> “Help and Suggestion”, scroll down to the bottom, and click “Online Customer Service” to contact us.

II. The connected WiFi is outside the punch area

WiFi is connected, but “Outside Punch Area”.

Solutions:

1. WiFi name is incorrect.
If the name of the connected WiFi is incorrect, change to the specified WiFi.

2. Punch Rule is incorrect.
Contact the admin to verify whether the rule name is correct. This is probably because of multiple duplicate rules or an incorrect rule. Modification is required to ensure the punch member is correct.

3. BSSID is incorrect.
Contact the admin. This is mostly caused by the missed setting of BSSID. If there are multiple WiFis with the same name, be sure to add BSSIDs for all the WiFis.
For some WiFis, BSSID changes with the restart of the router. You need to set the changed BSSID manually.

4. Other reasons
The BSSIDs of some large-scale WiFi networks change dynamically. In this case, confirm with the technical personnel responsible for the networks. It is recommended to use a punch mode combing WiFi with location for a higher flexibility and reliability.
