How to Set Attendance Method
[TOC]

I. Attendance Methods

Currently, the available attendance methods for WeCom are as follows: You can clock in/out by using either a mobile or an attendance machine:
Mobile: Clock-in/out can be done via either location or Wi-Fi; configuration of clock-in/out locations and clock-in/out Wi-Fi networks is required.
Attendance machine: associating to the attendance machine is required when you clock in/out on the attendance machine, or view records on WeCom.
Mobile + Attendance machine: Configuration of clock-in/out locations, clock-in/out WiFi networks, and association of the attendance machine are required when you clock in/out via either location or Wi-Fi + the attendance machine.

II. Where to set up punch locations

Admins can add punch locations in “App Management” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Punch in/out” -> “Set Rules” -> “+ Add Rules” or “Edit” -> “Location”/“WiFi” under “Location” from the admin console,

or by tapping “Workspace” -> “Attendance (Punch)” -> “Manage” -> a specific rule -> “Location”/“WiFi” from mobile.

III. Punch location quota

Punch by location stamping or WiFi are supported.

The limits for punch locations and Wi-Fi networks are both set at 5,000.

The punch area can be set to 100 to 3000 meters.

IV. Punch by location stamping

You can set up punch locations by manually entering location names, scanning a specific QR code via your phone, and importing location names in batches.
Before batch importing, you need to download a template. In the template, fill in the latitude and longitude, punch range (in meters), location name, and detailed address.
Note:
1. Use the WeCom app on the phone of the admin currently logged in to the admin console to scan the QR code for setting up punch locations. Other members’ WeCom apps are not supported.
2. Supports adding overseas clock-in/out locations, allowing members to use attendance functionality in overseas regions.

V. Punch by WiFi

WiFi name and BSSID are required to set up punch by WiFi.
Such information can be imported in batches.
When scanning a code to add an attendance wifi bssid, non-current company administrators/non-current login Admin Console administrators/members can all recognize the QR code and report the bssid.

How to obtain BSSID:
(1) Ask the company’s IT department about WiFi’s BSSID.
(2) Scan the QR code on the right using the latest WeCom.
(3) Make sure the BSSID is not dynamic. Otherwise, “Outside Punch Area” may be displayed when WiFi is connected.

VI. FAQs

1. When I add a punch location, a message appears: “This location has been added.”

Duplicate locations are not allowed if you add manually. However, duplication check is not performed for batch import of locations from an Excel file, which may result in duplicate locations. Duplicate locations do not affect punch, and you can choose to keep or delete the duplicate part.

2. There is no response when I select to add a punch location by scanning the QR code with my phone.

The QR code for setting the clock-in/out address/reporting Wi-Fi QR code needs to be scanned by the current administrator who is logged in to the Admin Console on WeCom. It is not supported to scan the code using WeCom of other companies/administrators/members who are not currently logged in to the Admin Console. (If a WeCom other than that of the administrator currently logged into the Admin Console is used to scan the code, the mobile app will display a “Submission Successful” message, but the Admin Console page will not actually respond.)

3. BSSID is not displayed after connection to Wi-Fi.

Please enable the location permission on your phone and allow WeCom to access your location, and then open Attendance again.

4. How to check the location where members clocked in/out

You can view or export the locations where members clocked in/out from their clock-in/out records or offsite attendance records.

Viewing path: [Mobile - Workspace - Attendance - Statistics - Team Statistics - Clock-in/out/Offsite Attendance - Click on the member - Click on the member’s clock-in/out time]. Here, you can view/export the location where the member clocked in/out;
Or, navigate to [Admin Console - App Management - Attendance - Clock-in/out/Offsite Attendance - View Statistics - Daily Report Summary], then click on the member’s clock-in/out record to view/export the location where the member clocked in/out.
