How to use Send Red Packet to Employee

I. Activate Company Pay: Click here

II. Go to Send Red Packet to Employee

In the WeCom admin console, go to “Workspace” -> “Company Pay” -> “Send Red Packet to Employee” -> “Go to Features”. Then, you will be redirected to the Merchant Platform. Scan the QR code to log in.

Or log in the Merchant Platform and go to “Product Center” -> “WeCom” -> “Go to Features” -> “Send Red Packet to Employee”.

III. Send Red Packet to Employee

Method 1: Ordinary red packet

1.Select the sending scope. Click “Add” to add members from the Contacts in WeCom. (The sending scope supports selecting individual members or entire departments. After selecting a department and clicking “Enter”, the sending scope will expand to show the member list of that department). Currently, importing members is not supported.


2.Both fixed and random amount are supported

  • If random amount is selected, you need to set the floating range of the amount of a single red packet and set the total amount of red packets.
  • If fixed amount is selected, you need to set the amount of a single red packet. The total amount will be calculated automatically.

3.Add blessing messages The blessing messages will be displayed when a member gets and opens the red packet, as shown on the right side of the figure above. A blessing message cannot exceed 10 characters.

4.Click “Submit” to send the red packet.

5.Members will receive red packets from “Company Pay Assistant” in WeCom. After they open the red packet, the amount will be credited to their WeChat account linked to WeCom.

Method 2: Greeting card packet


A custom greeting card packet allows employees to gain a better understanding of the corporate culture. Greeting card packets can be sent via a virtual account with the sender name you set. This will make employees feel more intimate and interactive. You can define when to send red packets and who can receive them in advance.

1.Enter the item name and select recipients and the time to send the red packet.

2.Set red packet amount.

3.Enter the sender information. Enter the sender name and upload a profile photo. Red packets will be sent to members in chats through a virtual account of the sender you set. Enter a text message that the sender wants to convey in the red packet, as shown on the right side of the figure below.

4.Set the greeting card. When members tap “Open Company Red Packet”, the greeting card will be displayed. You can set the greeting card background or upload greeting card videos. Enter the “Greeting Message” and “Blessing Message”, as shown on the right side of the figure below. You can also send it to WeCom and preview it on your mobile.

5.Click “Submit” and the greeting card packet will be sent at the set time, and specified members will receive the red packet in WeCom.

6. Starting from v5.0.2, Enterprise Payment supports sending greeting card red packets to up to 10,000 members at once, making distribution more efficient.

Method 3: Send red packets via API

1. Call APIs to make payments. For more information, see “Send Company Red Packet” API Documentation.

IV. View Red Packet Assignment and Collection Records

1. Check Red Packet Assignment Records

Red packet records can be viewed and exported in [Product Center -> WeCom -> Assign Red Packets to Employees -> Red Packet Records].

Options for “Assign Date”: Today, Yesterday, Last Seven Days, This Week, and This Month.
Options for “Project Status”: Assignment Completed, To Be Assigned, In Assignment, Insufficient Balance, Draft, and Revoked.
Options for “Organizer”: If you click, you can call up the business Contacts, You can select only one member, but you cannot select departments, labels, or multiple members.
“Single Red Packet Amount” can be filled in up to 9999999999.
“Total Red Packet Amount” can be filled in up to 9999999999.

2. Query the receipt records of red packets

In “Send Red Packet to Employee” -> “Red Packet History”, you can query the historical red packet records, and check members who have received red packets.
Red Packet collection records may be exported, but exporting red packet collection records does not support exporting accounts.

V. Validity Period of Red Packet

Red packets must be collected within 24 hours after receipt; if exceeded, they will expire and cannot be collected further.

It currently does not support setting red packet expiration time; the default validity period for red packet is 24 hours.
